Obituary

Lois Pauline Phillips of Lubbock, Texas, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on April 12, 1940, in Fresno, California, to Robert and Pauline (Miller) Wilson, Lois led a life rich in love and service. She dedicated 12 years of her professional life to Sears, but her greatest joy was found in raising her family alongside her beloved husband, Tom.

Lois married Tom Phillips on October 12, 1958. Their union was a testament to true companionship; they were best friends from the moment they met and created a nurturing home where faith and love flourished. Together, they attended Sunset Church of Christ, where they were faithful members. In her garden, Lois found solace, often landscaping her yard, and finding joy in watching the box turtles and her cats.

Lois leaves behind cherished memories with her children, Susan Wright of Lubbock and David Phillips, along with his wife, Julie, of Stephenville. She is also survived by her brother, John Wilson and his wife, Carol, of Fresno, California; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two nieces.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Pauline Wilson, and her devoted husband, Tom, who passed away in 2019.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. A private burial will take place. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to the Sunset International Bible Institute, https://www.sunset.bible/give-now

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the compassionate care provided to Lois by Dr. Joel Landry, Legacy at the South Plains, and Hospice of Lubbock.
