Marguerite Inez Sawyer, 97, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, in San Angelo, Texas. She was born on February 28, 1929, in Sweetwater, Texas, to John A. Boswell and Kathryn E. Franklin Boswell.

On July 16, 1949, Marguerite married the love of her life, William Sawyer, in Val Verde, Texas. They shared many happy years together until his passing in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her son, John Sawyer, in 2016 and her grandson, William Sawyer III in 2025.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, William Sawyer, Jr. and wife, Diana; her sister, Martha "Moppy" Cole; her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Justin, Shelby, and Jerry Don; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Trinity, Grayson, Summit, William IV, William, Kendra, Parker, Westyn, and Brextyn, all of whom brought great joy to her life.

Marguerite worked for many years as a furniture store manager and bookkeeper. She was a proud member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary and valued the friendships she made through the organization.

She enjoyed walking the ranch with William, square dancing, and admiring the beauty of purple sage and wildflowers. She appreciated the simple pleasures in life and treasured every moment spent with her family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Combest Funeral Home in Tahoka, Texas. A graveside service will immediately follow at Nevels Memorial Cemetery in Tahoka.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice in Marguerite's memory or that a tree be planted in her honor.
