Nancy Bob Armstrong Reeves was born in Lamesa, Texas, to J.C. and Irene Armstrong. Her father preferred the name Bobbie for a girl, while her mother chose Nancy—so she became Nancy Bob.

As a child, Nancy and her four siblings moved to Ropesville, Texas, where they were raised on the family farm. From an early age, she learned hard work and responsibility—cooking, cleaning, hoeing weeds, picking cotton, and doing whatever was needed to help the family and the farm.

In Ropesville, Nancy met Preston Reeves, the love of her life. They married in 1951 and built their life together on the farm. Nancy devoted herself to her roles as wife, mother, homemaker, and faithful member of First Baptist Church and her community. Together, she and Preston raised two daughters and created a home filled with love, faith, hard work, and lasting memories. She deeply loved the life they built.

Born in 1932, Nancy lived through nearly a century of American history, from the Great Depression and Dust Bowl through World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam era, Y2K, the rise of the internet and smartphones, and a global pandemic. While the world changed dramatically, her priorities remained constant: faith, family, home, and the people she loved.

Nancy adored her family, especially daughters, Luan and Lisa, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy!

She is survived by her daughters, Luan and Eddie and Lisa and Robert; grandchildren, Jeremy Dalton and wife Vanessa, Heather Dennis and husband Jeff, Amanda Kimbrell and husband Jeremy, and Amber Kirk; great-grandchildren, Talitha, Simeon, Cana, Selah, Jerusha, and Ebenezer Dalton; Lucile and Preston Dennis; and Annie and Ellis Kimbrell; her sister, Kay Bailey; and brothers-in-law, Mack Reeves, Earnest Spradlin, and Bob Bailey.

Nancy’s life reflected love, faith, family, hard work, and devotion. She gave generously, loved deeply, and leaves behind a legacy that will be carried forward for generations.

Nancy was proud to be able to witness the church she and Preston helped build continue to grow over the past decade under the leadership of Dr. Donavan Martin.

The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 pm, Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Combest Family Funeral Homes. Services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 4, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Ropesville with interment to follow at the Ropesville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church Ropesville Building Program, PO Box 56, Ropesville, Texas 79358.
