Oscar Franklin Carlton, 67, passed away on August 10, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on October 3, 1958, in Hereford, Texas, to Leroy Elton Carlton and Rose Griego.

Oscar graduated from Hereford High School in 1977, where he participated in multiple sports and especially loved baseball and basketball. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, he looked forward to watching every game and cheering on his team.

Oscar worked for many years as a technician in the glass industry. He had a deep love for animals and was known for bringing home strays, giving them the care, comfort, and affection they needed. His gentle nature extended to everyone around him - Oscar was kindhearted, thoughtful, and always willing to lend a helping hand.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Brandon Cruz Perales; his siblings Bobby Lee Carlton, Gerald Carlton, Bruce Carlton, Craig Carlton, and Marlene Carberry; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Clifton Carlton and Leroy Carlton, Jr.; and other loved ones.

Oscar will be remembered for his generosity, his love for family, and his unwavering kindness toward people and animals alike.Services will be held at a later date.
