Perry Kevin Wood passed away Monday, August 10, 2026, in Lubbock, TX He was born on November 30, 1955, to J. M. (Jack) Wood and Alta Vermell Wood, in Lamesa, TX. Kevin grew up on a farm in the O’Donnell area helping with the family cotton farm and pig farm. He attended O’Donnell Independent School graduating in 1974 .

 Kevin was dedicated to his family and friends. He was extremely dedicated to any job at hand and always diligently completed any task he was presented with. Kevin worked a number of years for the United Supermarkets Distribution Center, in the Facilities department. He retired from his job 5 yrs ago. 

In Kevin’s spare time he loved to hunt and fish, gardening, and helping family members and friends with any task they needed assistance with. He was quite the “fixer”! During Kevin’s retirement years he found peace and joy sitting on his front porch and passing the time until it was pecan picking up time! 

Survivors include his siblings, Charmi Wood, Billy Jack Wood, sister-in-law Dedra Wood, LaNita Richmond and husband Jule, Ronnie and wife Diane Wood, and Marcheta Gabriel. Kevin had a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Survived also by his very special friend, Connie Traylor who has provided much care and support to Kevin over recent years. Kevin was preceded in death by two infant sons, his parents, brother Kent, sister-in-law Sharron, nephew Kyle Gabriel and brother-in-law Max Gabriel.

The family of Kevin Wood will honor his life and cherish his memories with a visitation from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Friday, August 14, 2026 at the Oak Crest Suite, Combest Family Funeral Homes, 2210 Broadway St. Lubbock. A graveside service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the O'Donnell Cemetery, O'Donnell, TX.
