Kynon “Shane” Chapman of Lubbock passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026, at the age of 47. He was born April 4, 1979, in Plainview, Texas, to Kenneth and Barbara (Selman) Chapman.
Shane graduated from Texas Tech University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He built a successful career with Bob Mills Furniture, where he served as Senior Inventory Manager. Known for his dedication and strong work ethic, Shane continued working until April 2026, when his health led him to enter hospice care.
On April 18, 2015, Shane married Christy Kennon in Lubbock. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, friendship, and cherished memories. Shane was a faithful member of Raintree Christian Church for over a decade, along with his wife Christy, where their faith was an important part of their lives.
Music was one of Shane's greatest passions. A talented musician, he enjoyed playing both the French horn and piano, finding joy and expression through music. He also appreciated life's simple pleasures, especially a good cup of coffee, leisurely weekend brunches, and evenings spent around the dinner table with friends. Dinner parties and game nights were among his favorite ways to bring people together, sharing laughter, conversation, and friendly competition. Shane also enjoyed traveling, exploring new places, and making lasting memories along the way.
Above all, Shane treasured the people in his life. Whether enjoying a quiet moment over coffee, sharing a meal, or gathering with those he loved, he understood that life's most meaningful moments were often found in simply being together. His love of music, welcoming spirit, and appreciation for friendship and family will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.
Shane is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Christy Kennon Chapman; sons, Matthew Chapman and wife Kelbie, and Hunter Trevino, all of Lubbock; father, Kenneth Chapman of Lubbock; sister, Tonya Chapman and wife Chelsea Carson of Lubbock.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Chapman.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway in Lubbock. A service celebrating Shane's life will follow at 2:00 p.m.
