Victoria B. Hernandez, 80, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on June 19, 2026.

Victoria was born on August 16, 1945, in Monte Alto, Hidalgo County, Texas, to Gonzalo and Francisca Bazaldua. She made her home in Lubbock, where she shared a long and loving life with her husband, Jose A. Hernandez, until his passing in August 2020.

A devoted Catholic, Victoria was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Church, where her faith was a steady and guiding presence throughout her life. She was a homemaker who poured her heart into her family and her home. She had a gift for creating beauty in everyday things, finding joy in sewing, painting, gardening, and cooking. Those who knew her will remember the warmth she brought to her household and the care she put into everything she touched.

Victoria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose A. Hernandez; her parents, Gonzalo and Francisca Bazaldua; and her brother, Manuel Bazaldua.

She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Shaffer, and husband Todd, and Pricilla Kelley; her two sisters, Amy Rodriguez and Angie Morales and husband Ernest; her three grandchildren, Anthony Alvarez, Ashlea Winking, and Victoria Alvarez; and her four great-grandchildren, Greyson Alvarez, Joshua Winking, Arielle Alvarez, and Christian Alvarez.

Visitation for Victoria will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 5 to 7 PM at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, east of Combest Family Funeral Home.  Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 3111 Erskine Avenue.  Father Rudolf Crasta will be the Celebrant.  Final rites and interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Alvarez, Sam Hernandez, Israel Hernandez, Pepe Garcia, Todd Shaffer and Manuel Rodriquez.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
