Jimmy Partain

September 8, 1943 — July 30, 2022

Lubbock

Jimmy Earl Partain was born in Cleburne, Texas on September 8, 1943. He passed from this life on  July 30, 2022.  He grew up loving sports and fishing, and the Lord- all three things he held close his entire life. Jimmy graduated from Reagan County High School in 1961 and went on to attend Abilene Christian College where he met and married the love of his life Sandra Sue Mitchell on August 1, 1964. He began a successful career in the Petroleum industry and worked in Midland, Texas, Lovington, New Mexico and Gillette Wyoming before working in the cattle industry. He was elected President of the Oklahoma Texas Meat Processors Association and owned 2 businesses in Slaton and Lubbock during that time. He later worked for Dr. Rut Reynolds at Class One Orthodontics and finally retired to spend as many days as he could with his family visiting Red River, New Mexico fishing in what has been his favorite place for almost 50 years.

Jimmy and Sandra were married for 57 years before her passing last year. They are survived by three children: Barry and Sarah Partain of Georgetown, TX (Brent and wife Madi, Brooke and Baylee), Lisa and Lance Epperson of Wolfforth, Texas (Landon) and Melanie and Nathan Hill of Wimberley, Texas (Hadlea and Hudson).  Great grand-daughter Hallie Partain was born last October to Brent and Madi. All three of their children graduated from Lubbock Christian School and Lubbock Christian University. Jimmy was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and served in many roles, his favorite being a song leader with the most beautiful voice where he is now singing in heaven with the Angel choir.

The family will have a private memorial. In lieu of flowers, they ask that you donate, in honor of Jimmy, to the LCU Softball Program or to The Children's Home of Lubbock.
