Charles Ira Kenny, 85 of Lubbock passed away peacefully at home Thursday, April 5, 2018. He was born June 22, 1932. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S Army during the Korean War. After honorable discharge Charles attended radio/television school in Los Angles where he worked as a newscaster. After moving to Lubbock, he worked as a Radio Engineer for KFYO for more than 20 years before retiring from KRFE.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elizabeth; children, Kevin and wife Celia Kenny, Karin and husband Rick Honea, and Michael and wife Yolanda Kenny all of Lubbock; brother, Bert and wife Connie Kenny of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 9, 2018 at Combest Family Funeral Homes with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Memorial donations can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or the Wounded Warrior Project.
