Coy Elvis Cooper, 87 passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018. He was born September 17, 1930 in Battiest, Oklahoma, to Henry Epp Cooper and Minnie Gammon Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Virgil Cooper; his sisters, Della McDaniel, Lorene Lee and Alta Smalling. Also, his first wife, Mary Francis Smith; second wife, Geraldine Ann Walthall Nichols; and his stepson, Bruce Nichols.

He is survived by his twin brother Roy and his wife Lois Cooper; by his stepchildren, Mike and Stella Nichols, Tony Nichols, and Beverly Nichols, Mike Tussy, Patrick Scoggins, and Belinda Worley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The Cooper twins came to West Texas and Lubbock in 1949. The Cooper twins, Coy and Roy, served in the U.S. Navy together, from 1952 - 1956. Coy was privileged to go on the 2017 Honor flight escorted by his stepson, Mike Nichols. Coy is a highly talented excellent cabinet maker, who made furniture. He was a 32nd Mason. He retired from Plains Capital Bank in 2003.

Grandpa Coy was blessed with the Nichols grandchildren, Cara, Emily, Molly, Stephen, and Daniel, and also Blu and Evan Estes, and JoAnn Estes Austin. And these great grandchildren, Daytona, Tatum, Kemper, Pepper, and Breklyn.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
