C.A. Davis, 85, of Lubbock went to be with his Heavenly Father, Thursday, November 1, 2018. He was born May 31, 1933 the fourth child to Clyde and Orpha Mae (Cox) Davis east of Seymore, Texas in Baylor County. C.A. begin school in a two-room school house in Lively community, attended school in Vera, Monahan's, Big Springs and Seminole, Texas. He served two years in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged in 1955 at the rank of Corporal he worked for eight years in the oil field. C.A. married Martha Edwards in Denver, Colorado on August 19, 1963. He served 30 years with the U.S. Postal Service, serving as a Postmaster in Monahans, Texas and retiring as a Postmaster in Farmington, New Mexico.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Martha; son, Wade Davis and wife Marcy of Idalou; daughter, Julie Smith and husband Coy of Hearne, Texas; brothers, Richard Davis and wife Martha of Crosby, Texas, Leroy Davis and wife Delores of Monument, New Mexico; grandchildren, Ryan and Alyssa Davis, C.W. Smith, Brittany Pennington; great grandchildren, Gracelyn Anne and Patrick Alan Pennington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Orpha; brother, William Davis in 1996; and sister, Janis Horton in 2010.

C.A. accepted Christ at the age of 15 and was a member of Heart of Worship Baptist Church. He always seemed happiest when around other believers in Christ.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Combest Family Funeral Homes. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2018 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Hale Center Cemetery.
