Alicia Josefina Leija Oles, 93, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024. She was born on August 27, 1930 in Laredo TX to Abraham Leija and Maria Villarreal Leija. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jesus Leija, sister Lucille Garza, and her husband of 44 years Homer P. Oles whom she met while working at Laredo AFB. She is survived by her five children Michael Oles and wife Judy, Diana Windler, Alice Oles, Steven Oles and wife Ronda all of Lubbock, and Robert Oles of Corpus Christi, TX. She is also survived by eight grandchildren Ryan & Russ Oles, Zachary, Emily, & Grace Windler, and Peyton Oles, Maddison Oles, and Meagan Guthrie. She is also survived by three Great Grand Children.

After serving in the Air Force for 20 years, they retired from Dyess AFB and settled in Abilene TX for 39 years and for the past 17 years resided in Lubbock to be close to her children.

She was a wonderful and dedicated mother who was always there for her family and others when needed, her family was everything. Alicia was always willing to give her time to her church and help those less fortunate than her. She was a hard working Air Force wife for much of her younger years always moving at a moments notice to many locations across the USA and the world. After they retired from the Air Force she worked for her church in the nursery for many years and later managed the church second hand store, and volunteered for Abilene Meals on Wheels. She also worked many years in the Mann Junior High school cafeteria. She will be greatly missed.

The family invites you to join them for a memorial service at Combest Family Funeral Home, 2210 Broadway, Lubbock on February 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM, with Elizabeth Abraham officiating. All are welcome. Her cremated remains will be inurned at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene, TX at a later date.
