Alice Louise Stone

Alice Louise Stone of Shallowater, Texas, passed from this earth on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at the age of 60. Alice was born on August 15, 1965 in Santa Barbara, California to Ivan and Beverley Darbyshire. The family then moved to Seward, Alaska when she was 11 years old. After high school, she enrolled in classes at the vocational college in Seward, where she met her husband, Paul Stone. They were married on August 2, 1987 in Rocky Ford, Colorado. That same year they were both baptized into the Lord’s church, beginning a lifelong devotion to the Lord. In 1990, they moved to Swink, Colorado with their 3 children: Christine, Luke, and Aubrey.

Alice began working in the medical coding and billing field while living in Swink and continued in it for the rest of her life. She was loved for the joy, peace, and encouragement she brought to everyone around her. With a quick smile and genuine kindness, Alice had a natural gift for making people feel comfortable and truly valued, no matter who they were. She loved being a wife, mom, and “Gma”, as her grandchildren called her. Most of all, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she took advantage of every opportunity to do so. Most importantly, Alice had a deep love for God and His church. She shared her faith openly and was a positive influence right through her final days.

Alice is survived by her husband of 38 years: Paul Stone, 3 children: Christine Aumick (Chris) of Seward, Alaska, Luke Stone (Rebekah) of Shallowater, Texas, and Aubrey Moudy (Brock) of Shallowater, Texas, 8 grandchildren: Stryder and Tyde Aumick, Henrietta, Beckett, and Owen Stone, Henley, Timothy, and Darby Moudy, and 4 brothers: Emmett Darbyshire, Frank Darbyshire, Brian Darbyshire, and Eric Darbyshire. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Beverley Darbyshire, and her brother, Lawrence Darbyshire.

Her Celebration of Life will be held on September 13th at 10:00 am at Dripping Springs church of Christ.
