Amelia Cervantez

Amelia Cervantez, 68, of Tahoka passed away peacefully surrounded by family on her birthday. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on December 29, 1953, to Reyes and Augrora (Esparza) Cervantez. Amelia grew up in Tahoka and attended schools here. She worked as a cook at the Dixie Dog for 21 years. Amelia was a strong, independent woman. Amelia loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Mary Jimenez (Tad Overstreet), Rosa Morin, Crystal Calzoncit and Kelley Calsoncit; sons, Daniel Joe Morin (Valerie), Benito Onofre, Cayetano Calzoncit, Jr., Jose Calsoncit and Juan Calsoncit; brother Jose Cervantez; sister, Louisa Trevino; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Reyes and Augrora Cervantez; sister, Benita DeLaRosa; granddaughter, Dahlia Onofre and daughter-in-law, Jeannie Onofre.
