Ann Ola Ross, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 18th,2025, at the age of 80, in Lubbock, TX. Born on November 25, 1944, in Brownwood, TX, Ann was the daughter of Robert Owen and Josie Ellen (Andrews) Greaves. She spent her early years in Lubbock, where her family relocated, and attended Lubbock High School.
In 1961, Ann's life took a beautiful turn when she met George Ross while he was attending Lubbock Christian College. Their connection blossomed into a lifelong partnership, culminating in their marriage on October 5th, 1963. She served as the Payroll Director for Texas Tech University for 17 years before retiring.
Throughout her life, Ann embraced various hobbies that brought her joy and fulfillment. She played in a local softball league for many years, showcasing her competitive spirit and love for the game. An avid fisherwoman and flower lover, she possessed a green thumb, cultivating beautiful gardens. Ann was also an excellent cook, often preparing meals that brought her family together around the dinner table. She was known for her unselfishness and unwavering faith as a devoted Christian and had a unique ability to touch the lives of those around her.
A source of great pride in Ann's life was the proud lineage of firefighters in her family - her husband, George; her son, Barry; and her grandsons, Brandon and Austin, who are also paramedics- a hallmark of her life.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Josie Graves, Brothers Jay and Junior Graves, and Sisters Marie Lutz and Shirley Flemings, and her beloved great-granddaughter Imara, who passed away in 2023. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, survived by her husband, George; children, Barry Ross (Robin) of Lubbock and Kim Boisen (Kevin) of Corinth, TX; grandchildren, Brandon Ross, Austin Ross (Ely), and Olivia Whittington (Canyon). Great-grandchildren: Ryder Whittington, and brothers Frank Greaves ( Delores).
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 22nd,2025, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 23rd,2025, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
