She was born in Sabinal, TX, March 13, 1931, to Jack and Minnie Belle Griffin. Anna Pearl graduated from Sabinal High School in 1948, and, married Pat Wootton at her parents’ home in Sabinal, May 29, 1951.
She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife while supporting all the school and church activities of her three daughters. In later years she worked at the dress shop, Minit Mart, grocery store, Garner Park souvenir shop, and, for 25 years, as a paraprofessional with Sabinal ISD. She was an avid gardener with a strong green thumb; a great cook; and active, life-long member of Central Christian Church, Sabinal.
Anna Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Bobby Jack Griffin; sister-in-law, Nell Griffin Graham; daughter, Janice Deann Wootton.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Patricia Verett and Steve, of Lubbock, TX; Carol Penton and Bobby of Spring, TX; granddaughter, Whitney Verett of Washington DC; grandsons, Kristofer Verett and Katie of Idalou, TX; Taylor Verett and Mary, of Olathe, KS; five great grandsons and one great granddaughter. Also remembering Anna Pearl are nieces Jeanne Crow and Phillip of Reagan Wells, TX; Pam Griffin and Ty Beard of Leakey, TX; great nephews Griffin Crow and Shelby of San Marcos, TX; Ross Crow of Reagan Wells.
The family is planning a memorial service, to be held at a later date, and suggest memorial gifts be made to Central Christian Church, PO Box 116, Sabinal, TX 78881.
