Arnulfo Ornela, Jr.

Arnulfo Ornelas, Jr. of Georgia, formerly of Lubbock, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the age of 75.  He was born December 9, 1937 in San Perlita, Texas to Arnulfo and Manuela (Garza) Ornelas, Sr.  Arnulfo worked as a truck driver before retiring.  He married Buena Ventura on January 11, 1957 in Evandale, Arizona.  The couple made their home in Lubbock where they were members of Our Lady of Grace.  Arnulfo moved to Georgia four years ago to be closer to family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Sara Ornelas of Jonesboro, GA, Elizabeth Fernandez of Detroit, MI, Maria Del Jesus Carmona and husband Juan and Auerlio Ornelas, all of Lubbock, and Manuel Ornelas and Eva Montalvo and husband Horacio, all of Franklin, GA; two brothers, Antonio Ornelas of Edinburg and Rojelio Ornelas of Camilla, GA; sister, San Juana Sanchez of Edinburg; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Arnulfo was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Buena; and two sons, Jose and Arnulfo Ornelas, III.

Mass is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at Our Lady of Grace with interment to follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
