Ayden Glenn Mitchell, born on August 29, 2002, in Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025. He was 23 years old. Ayden grew up surrounded by the warmth and love of his family and friends, embodying a joyful spirit that touched the lives of all who knew him. He was an honor student at Monterey High School and part of the tennis team his freshman through junior years. Ayden furthered his education at Texas Tech University, where he graduated with Honors in 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He was employed by First United Bank in Lubbock, TX.
Ayden’s passion for understanding people, sense of humor, and helpful nature drew others to him. Ayden was truly a “people” person. He had an uncanny ability to connect to just about anyone. His fun-loving style, disarming wit, and empathetic heart allowed him to build community wherever he found himself.
Ayden is survived by his loving parents, Vanessa Bolyard and her husband Casey, and Kory Mitchell, all of Lubbock; siblings, Ashley Mitchell of Amarillo, along with Jax Bolyard and Sam Bolyard, both of Lubbock; grandparents, Larry and Donna Mitchell of Bovina, and Doug and Tami Bolyard of Wilson, along with his great-grandmother, Arlene McCallum of Bovina. Ayden also leaves behind his extended family and friends, all of whom held him close to their hearts.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 pm, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway in Lubbock. Services are scheduled for 10:00 am, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church.
