Barbara Ann Meador Harris, age 83, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, in Lubbock. She was born November 19, 1941, in Lubbock, to Alton and Clara Meador.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert Greenhill; her second husband, Don Harris; and her sister, Judy.
She is survived by her children, Bobby Greenhill (Nancy) of Lubbock, Jeff Greenhill of Benbrook, and Lori Ewing (Doyce) of Lubbock; her grandchildren, Josh Greenhill (Sanjana), Garrett Davee, Shelby Jenkins (LeDarion), and Rachael Jarma (Lerenzo); and her great-grandchildren, Grayson Davee, Alivia Jenkins, and Jesse Jenkins. She is also survived by her brothers, Don Meador (Karen) and Joe Meador (Marty), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara lived a creative and fulfilling life. From 1970 to 1985, she pursued her passion as an artist, painting just about anything that wasn’t battened down. In 1986, she opened Rachael’s Fine Fabrics, a business she lovingly owned and operated until her retirement in 2013. Through her success as a top seller of Pfaff sewing machines, Barbara was able to travel the world and form lifelong friendships.
She was also well-known among family and friends for her famous Christmas peanut brittle, a sweet tradition she lovingly carried on each year.
Faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of Oakwood Fellowship.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 25, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. at Combest Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service celebrating Barbara’s life will take place Tuesday, August 26, at 1:30 p.m. at Oakwood Fellowship, 2215 58th St., Lubbock, TX 79423.
Barbara will be remembered for her creativity, generosity, faith, and the love she poured into her family and friends.
