Becky Escobedo, 50, of Lubbock, and loving wife of Larry Escobedo, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, surrounded by her loving family. Becky was born on March 27, 1974, in Lubbock, to Robert Medina and the late Guadalupe (Gonzales) Medina.
Becky attended Dunbar Struggs High School, graduating with the senior class of 1992. She later attended South Plains College, where she obtained her Associates Degree in Education. Furthering her studies, she attended Texas Tech University, also studying education.
She met the love of her life, Hilario “Larry” Escobedo, and they were united in marriage on May 28, 2005, in O’Donnell, Texas.
Becky has worked for the Lubbock Independent School District (LISD) for the past 21 years (2003 – 2024) as a Campus Technology Support Specialist. She loved to go to the beach, sun tanning, and was a party planner at heart. Becky was very community driven and loved to get involved in all sorts of activities, of which she graciously volunteered her husband to help. She was a die hard fan of the Texas Tech Red Raiders football team. She has been a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for many years.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her husband, Larry, of Lubbock; two sons: Elijah Escobedo of Houston and Robert Escobedo of Canyon; her father, Robert Medina of San Juan; her brother, Ira Medina of San Juan; one sister, Maria Martinez and her husband Gabriel of San Antonio. She was preceded in death by her mother in 2016.
A visitation for Becky will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, next door to Combest Family Funeral Home.
