Belma Ruth Marquez

Belma Ruth (Trevino) Marquez, 67, passed away April 25, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. She was born January 11, 1957, to Elias and Lucinda (Teran) Trevino, in Lubbock, TX. She graduated from Lubbock High School in 1975 and married Victor Marquez in June of 1975; to this union, they were blessed with 2 children, a son Joshua, and a daughter, Johanna. 

To her family and her friends, she was known as “Bel.” Bel was a hard-working woman, always doing things for her family and for her friends. When her children were younger, they remember having to wait for mom to get off of their Nintendo because she enjoyed playing video games. Bel was a Christian at heart, she loved the Lord, her faith was strong, and her prayers even stronger.  

Bel was preceded in death by her father, Elias Trevino, her mother, Lucinda Trevino, and a brother, Juan Trevino. Those remaining to cherish her memories are her husband, Victor Marquez, her son, Joshua (Sara) Marquez, her daughter, Johanna (Martin) Rodriquez; grandsons, Isaiah Marquez, Joshua Marquez, Jr., a granddaughter, Isabella Marquez, her sisters, Dora Cortez, Eva Trevino, and Amelia Trevino, her brothers, Elex (Cruz) Trevino, Rudy (Sylvia) Trevino, and Sam (Maggie) Trevino; and lots of nieces and nephews.  

The family of Belma Marquez will honor and celebrate her life with a memorial service at 10:00AM, Monday, April 29, 2024, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel, 2210 Broadway Lubbock. Arrangements were entrusted to Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lubbock.
