Betty Ann Cranford

November 17, 1928 — June 8, 2025

Betty Ann Cranford, cherished mother, devoted spouse, and beloved friend, left this world peacefully on June 7, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on November 17, 1928, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, she was the proud daughter of Thomas Harrison and Jessie Gladys (Clack) Fry. Her journey through life was notable, marked by her unwavering dedication and compassion for others.

A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Betty embraced her passion for caring for others through her work as a Registered Nurse. She later served with distinction for 10 years as a Cotton Classing Supervisor at USDA—a role that combined her love for service with her commitment to excellence.

On May 26, 1971, she married Bobby Ray (B.R.) Cranford in Littlefield, Texas, beginning a partnership that brought joy and companionship to their lives. Although B.R. has since passed, the love they shared continues to inspire all who knew them.

Betty's heart was a reservoir of love not only for her immediate family but also for the many lives she touched throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her two sons, David Allen and John Paul Harris, as well as her stepson Michael Ray Cranford. Their memories remain a profound part of her legacy.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Ruth Ellen Singer and husband Gary of Waco, Texas, and Rebecca Ann Andrus and husband Jerry of Lubbock, Texas. Additionally, she is survived by her stepdaughter Teresa Thorn of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and stepsons Richard Cranford and Bill Cranford, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Betty leaves behind a family of 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her enduring spirit.

A visitation to celebrate Betty's life will be held at the Tahoka Chapel of Combest on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. A graveside service will follow at Nevels Cemetery on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor her life and cherish the memories shared.

Betty Ann Cranford's kindness, strength, and warmth will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. As we say goodbye, let us remember her gentle spirit and the love she bestowed upon everyone around her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to your favorite charity.
