Beverly Jo Jinks, a devoted mother, passionate advocate for music, and a beloved educator, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the age of 94. She was born on March 20, 1932, in Amarillo to the late A.D. and Winnie Mae (King) Nance. Beverly’s journey began with a love of music that would define much of her life. Considered an opera star during her college years, her vocal talents were matched only by her joy in dancing, sharing music with others, and traveling. After graduating from high school, she pursued higher education at Amarillo College and WT State in Canyon, where she met and married her beloved husband, Tommy Glen Jinks. Together they embarked on a life filled with service, moving first to Clarendon, where Beverly worked for the City, and later to Clovis, where she devoted her talents to the First United Methodist Church. They settled in Muleshoe, where Beverly made a lasting impact as the music and special education teacher at Muleshoe Elementary School for 20 years. She also served as the Choir Director at the local First United Methodist Church. In 2010, the coupled moved to Lubbock.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Jan Rinard and husband Zac of Lubbock and Tim Jinks and wife Vicki of Fort Worth; grandchildren: Jennifer Grissom and husband Justin, Krysta Cecil and husband Toby, and Austin Jinks; and great-grandchildren: Rykhr, Kennedy, and Brecklyn.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Tommy Glen Jinks in August 2020; grandson, Seth Jinks, who passed in 2013; and siblings Billie Kunkel and James Nance.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Friday, April 3, 2026 at Llano Cemetery, located at 2900 S Hayes St, Amarillo, Texas.
