Billie Faye (Oliver) Evans Conlee, a cherished member of the Chickasaw Nation, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the age of 88. She as born February 27, 1937, in Bromide, Oklahoma. In 1950, Billie moved to Ropesville, Texas, where she would lay down deep roots, enriching her community through years of dedicated service. A woman of many talents, Billie worked diligently for Ropesville Independent School District in the cafeteria before managing the Ropesville Senior Citizens Center, and later devoted ten years to the home health industry. Before retiring, Billie served as a private caregiver for eight years. In 2005, she settled in Levelland.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Rebecca Smith and husband Larry, and Lisa Proffitt and husband Bart, all of Ropesville, and Cecily McIntyre and husband Steve of Zephyr; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Billie was preceded in death by her mother, Goldie Cass Oliver; stepmother, Lucille Wright Oliver; father, George Price Oliver; children, Vickie Evans Brock and Alfred Evans; sister, Delores Oliver Manning; and husband, Kenneth Evans, whom she was married to for 35 years.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Combest Family Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas. Memorial services are scheduled for 3:30 pm, Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Hickory Terrace, 717 Alamo Road in Levelland.
