Billy Posey

Billy Burton Posey III, 60, of Lubbock, passed away from his earthly home on April 6, 2023. He was born on November 4, 1962 in Montebello, California to parents Billy Burton Posey II and Fayra Irene Stader. Billy lived in Abilene, Texas at the state school, until moving to Lubbock, Texas in 1969 when he was 7 years old. He lived at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center in the home, Maple, for many years before just recently moving in to the home, Sparrow.

Billy communicated using his eyes, which spoke a million words. You always knew what he was wanting, needing, and thinking based of off the look he was giving you. Billy had amazing dexterity and could often be found un-tying knots. He will best be remembered by the amazing love that he showed to the LbSSLC staff, and his peers.

Those left to cherish his memory include a multitude of staff members and friends from the Lubbock State Supported Living Center.

A visitation honoring Billy will be held at the State Supported Living Center Chapel, on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. A funeral service will be following the visitation starting at 2:00pm.
