Blake Lee Garza, 20, of Lubbock, TX, passed away on March 28, 2024. He was born on January 2, 2004, to Sherry Collins and Jerry Garza. 

Blake graduated from Lubbock Cooper High School and went on to join the work force. He currently worked as a technician for Vexus. Blake was a very dedicated young man. He loved powerlifting and won many awards throughout his time in competitions. 

Sherry, Blake’s mother, wished to share these words, “Blake was always full of life. He loved making people smile and he really and truly cared about other people. He would help and encourage anyone that was around him. Blake would have fulfilled all of his dreams, including marrying his best friend, Naomi. He would have been an amazing husband and father. Love you always and forever.” 

Jerry, Blake’s father, had the following words to share about Blake. “You always made me proud son, I always knew the faith and courage you had you could do anything and will continue on being great, you will be in my heart forever and I will always be near you love you so much.”

Blake and Noami were looking forward to starting their lives together. Though this time was cut short too soon, they will remain together always. 

Blake is survived by his mother Sherry (Kevin) Collins and father Jerry (Monica) Garza; three brothers Aaron Garza, Chris Luera, and Jonathan Villarreal; three sisters Courtney Luera, Stephanie Santos, and Clarissa Ocanas; four grandparents Geneva Gomez, Juan Garza, and Larry and Barbara Sears; aunts and uncles Yolanda Garcia, Christine Santos, Juan Garza, Johnny Garza, Daniel Tinjero, and Bridget and Keith Franklin; cousins Brittney and Kaden Franklin, and Rebecca, Bianca, and Laura Garcia, and many other cousins; two nephews Ian Garza, and Josh Raybon, and one niece Arianna Santos. 

He is preceded by his great grandparents George and Kathleen Price, and Harvey and Anne Bell Sears. 

A time of visitation will be held for Blake on April 4, 2024, with the family receiving friends and extended family from 4:00pm – 8:00pm, at the Venue on Broadway.
