Brenda Marlene Green

Brenda Marlene Green, 66, of Lubbock, was lifted into heaven on Wednesday afternoon, May 1, 2024.  She was born on September 7, 1957, in Lubbock, to the late J. B. Stinnett and Onetta Stinnett.

She attended Clovis High School and graduated with the senior class of 1976.

Brenda worked as a bookkeeper at GMAC in Lubbock and Amarillo.  After the branch closed, she moved back to Lubbock, where she made her home and remained there until her death. Brenda was an avid sports fan.  She loved watching professional football, baseball, and basketball.  She would also watch all the talk shows regarding sports.

Brenda was generous to a fault, often giving up everything for someone in need.  She loved doing things for others, even over herself.  She was raised in the Baptist faith by her parents.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her son, Austin (Stephenie) Green; two sisters:  Pam (Ginger) Stinnett and Tonya (Eddie) Felan, both of Lubbock; four brothers: Jimmy (Shelly) Stinnett of San Antonio, Bryan (Martha) Stegar of Taos, NM, Ben (Nylene) Stegar of Pahrump, NY, and Franklin Stinnett of Claremore, OK; her Mom, Dorothy “Mom” Stinnett; four grandchildren:  Abigail, Stephen, Sean, and Shane; and three great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Onetta Echols and her father, J. B. Stinnett.

A visitation for Brenda will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2024, in the Oak Crest Suite of Combest Family Funeral Home, 2210 Broadway in Lubbock.  Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, May 10, 2024, in Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, with Pastor Eloy Felan and Jimmy Stinnett officiating.  Services are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Felan, Sean Gonzales, Shane Gonzales, Stephen Gonzales, Michael Green, and Tanner Turner.
