Bruce Alan Boyd

Bruce Alan Boyd of Idalou went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the age of 56.  He was born on February 15, 1956 in Lubbock to Weldon and Peggy (Kelso) Boyd.  Bruce graduated from Idalou High School in 1974; he then graduated from Texas Tech in 1978 where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.  Bruce was an independent landman working for various oil companies. He served in the United States Army.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Idalou. Bruce was known for his infectious smile, laugh, quick wit and vast knowledge of useless information.

His memory will be cherished by his parents, Weldon and Peggy Boyd of Idalou; brother, Rick Boyd of Lubbock; sister, Phyllis Boyd Clark of Argyle; and five nephews.

Bruce was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie & Eula Boyd and Don & Lena Kelso and brother-in-law, Randy Clark.

Visitation will be held 12:00 – 5:00 pm, Sunday, January 6, 2013 with family receiving friends from 5:00-6:30 pm at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Idalou.  Services are scheduled for 1:30 pm Monday, January 7, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Idalou with interment to follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to the Idalou United Methodist Church, 518 Chestnut Street, Idalou, TX 79329.
