Carlos Marrero, 50, of Lubbock, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday afternoon, September 7, 2026. Carlos was born to Francisco and Maria (Gil) Marrero on September 6, 1976.
Carlos grew up in the Lubbock area and attended Monterey High School where he graduated with his senior class of 1994. He furthered his education by attending Texas Tech University, studying in the School of Architecture.
When Carlos met Amy Reyna, he immediately knew he wanted her to be his wife. Exactly one year later, they were married on July 21, 2001. They recently market a significant milestone, sharing 25 years of marriage together.
He was the owner/operator of J’s RV Rental from 2020 to current. He loved photography, being outdoors, golfing, hunting deer and fishing. He thoroughly loved his family, especially his children. He was a loving father who always attended his son’s activities, but always with his trusty camera so he could take pictures. He took pictures of all Trinity Sports and was a self-appointed sports photographer, and he never missed a game. He has been a member of Trinity Church since 2001.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Amy of Lubbock; two sons: Caleb Michael Marrero and Joshua Matthew Marrero of Lubbock; one brother, Oscar Marrero of Lubbock; his parents, Francisco and Maria J. Marrero of Lubbock; his father and mother in law, Alex and Delia Reyna of Lubbock; and his loveable fur baby, Dexter. Carlos was preceded in death by his fur baby Apollo, a yellow lab.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be at 10 AM on Monday, September 14, 2026, in the Chapel of Trinity Church, located at 7002 Canton Avenue in Lubbock. Stacy Ward will be the officiant. Cremation and memorial services are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jay Fortner, DDS, Dr. Jon Skelton, MD, Braulio Delgado, Alex Reyna, Jr., Jimmy Elizondo, Scott Toman, James Jordan, Beau Brown, Jack Kelly, and Jason Hicks.
In lieu of flowers, the family very much requests that you consider making a donation in Carlos memory to the Trinity Schools financial aid program for students.
