Cary Oneal Davis passed away January 16, 2024, in Lubbock, TX surrounded by family. He was born November 10, 1944, to his loving parents, Calvin Oneal and Edna Louise (McGee) Davis in Cooper, TX. He graduated from high school in Brownfield, TX where he was very active in tennis and yearbook. After high school, he joined the United States Airforce and served 4 years. Cary went on to attend college at Texas Tech, in Lubbock, TX. He married the love of his life, Susan Annette Lee, October 26,1976.

 

Cary forged a long-standing career as a Industrial Construction Manager. He was globally known, and personally requested, to be the Industrial Construction Manager on many overseas projects, to include the Netherlands, Wales, Venezuela, Trinidad, and Tobago. During his time overseas, his family visited often, and traveled Europe. The awards he has received throughout his career and life are too many to list.

 

Cary earned his favorite title, which was Dad and "Grampy." He loved his family and made sure he provided the best for them. Cary enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. One of his most prized possessions were his 4 Yorkshire Terriers, Rowdy, Bella, Rocky and Remi. Cary passed on his love of the Red Raiders to many of his grandkids. He was a member of the Texas Tech Red Raiders Club, and he also enjoyed reading, watching all sports and golfing.

 

Cary was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Edna, a brother, David Davis, and a son, Randall Davis. Those remaining to cherish his many memories are his wife, Susan Annette Davis, his children, Michael Davis, Shelly (Keith) Hart, Christopher Davis, Cynthia (Keven) Kennard, a sister, Sandra Kay (Johnny) Lasiter, 14 grandkids and 9 great grandkids.

 

The family of Cary Oneal Davis will honor and celebrate his life at a later date. Please check back with us for a scheduled date, time and location for the memorial gathering. Arrangements were entrusted to Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
