Charles Richard "Ricky" Bradley, 67, of Lubbock passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021. Ricky was born on September 7, 1954 to Thomas "Tom" and Juanita (Glover) Bradley, in Van Horn, Texas.
Ricky was a wonderful husband, son, father, grandpa, uncle, and friend. He never met a stranger. He loved people and making them laugh, He was kind and generous, thoughtful, and loving. He loved people and making them laugh. He wrote and told stories from his life experiences that kept us all entertained. While some of this was done in person, he loved posting stories and jokes on Facebook to his avid audience.
He spent nearly thirty years with the love of his life, Cissie until her passing in 2003. He would tell people, "I'm not a widower, I'm a husband whose wife awaits me on the other side."
He and Cissie raised five children. He was the best Daddy and Grandpa anyone could ask for. Grandpa Ricky was loved by all.
Rick wore many hats throughout his life including miner, core driller, welder, truck driver, EMT, jailer and dispatcher. He and Cissie decided later in life to pursue their dreams of obtaining a college education. They began this journey at Sul Ross in Alpine, TX and continued it at Angelo State in San Angelo, TX where he was asked to join the masters' program. He then went to work for the Schleicher County Sheriff's Office. He retired in 2012 due to poor health. He spent the last years of his life living in Lubbock being cared for by his daughter Mandy and her husband Don and children.
He is finally reunited with his beloved wife, Cissie. We will miss him daily and remember him always.
Ricky is survived by his children, Amanda McMillon (Don) of Lubbock, TX, Rheta Gilmer (Bill) of Lindsay, TX, Laura Lynch (Johnny) of Muncie, IN, Sarah Meghan Bradley of Muncie, IN, and Richard Bradley (Patricia) of Spring, TX; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Charlene Bradley Choate of Las Cruses, NM.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Cecilia "Cissie" (Dodson) Bradley.
