Charlotte Susan Nipp (Durrett), 75 of Lubbock passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021. She was born on December 24, 1945, to RH Durrett and Golda Cox in Lubbock, Texas. Charlotte was raised in Lubbock where she graduated from Monterey High School in 1964. She married James Earl Nipp on August 9, 1966.
Charlotte began working as an attendance clerk for LISD in the 80's and then retired in May of 2004 shortly after James' retirement. In her free time, she liked to sew, shop at garage sales, and crafting. Charlotte always wanted to see the ocean, so as a young military wife, James made this possible taking her to the beach in North Carolina. Charlotte was a doer and a giver. She enjoyed baking and decorating multiple cakes for weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries. She loved to attend her grandkids events and is known for taking them to Bahama Bucks for an afterschool treat while listening to Elvis Presley. Charlotte spent many summers with the grandchildren at the swimming pool. Around the holidays she enjoyed spending time with the family making gingerbread houses. She was a Christian woman and a member of Bacon Heights Baptist Church.
Charlotte's memory will be cherished by her husband of 55 years, James Nipp; children, Jamie Bowen (Jerry) of Lubbock, Kim Williams (Jackie) of Lubbock; and three grandchildren who adored their "Nana", Brittany Beebe, Gregory Beebe, and Ryan Williams.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Family will be receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. A service will be held at 9:00 on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.
