Cherie Michelle Hebisen

Cherie Michelle Hebisen, 51, of Lubbock, while surrounded by her loved ones and family, was invited to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 19, 2024.  Cherie was born on December 22, 1972, in Midland, Texas.  Her parents are Bennie Marie Kuykendall and Kenneth (Kent) David Kuykendall.

Cherie attended Greenwood High School in Midland, graduating with her senior class of 1991.  She attended Texas Tech University, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1996.  Later, she returned to Texas Tech University, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 2001.

She met Brian Hebisen who was her best friend and the love of her life.  They were united in marriage on August 25, 1991, in Monahans, Texas.  Out of this blessed union, they were gifted with four beautiful children, one daughter and three sons.

Cherie was a passionate realtor and was proud to be a part of the Diana Romans team with Keller Williams.  She loved to serve others and went above and beyond. Her hobbies included a love for scrapbooking, photography (especially of her children and grandchildren), and playing her personal favorite sport of pickleball. She joyfully served her church family for 13 years at her church, Victory Life Church, teaching Sunday school in the Children’s department and Youth department. Cherie loved to read books, watch Criminal Minds on television, and had an amazing sense of humor.  Her favorite TV game show was Wheel of Fortune.  She loved her ornery cat, Beastie and sharing her morning oatmeal with her grand puppy, Oliver. Everything she was a part of she put her whole heart into, including her people. She loved and trusted in the Lord and as a result was courageous until her very last breath.  She would always say “I’m finding joy in my journey!”

Those left to honor and cherish Cherie’s memory include her husband, Brian; one daughter, Ashley Brooke Wilmeth and husband Connor of Lubbock; three sons: Patrick Lee Hebisen and wife Julia Reigh of Canyon, Nicholas Jarratt Hebisen and special family friend Lexi of Lubbock, and William Burke Hebisen of Lubbock; her parents, Kent Kuykendall and Bennie Kuykendall of Bryant, Arkansas; one sister, Melissa Kay White and her son Morgan David White of Carmel, Indiana.   Last, but not least, are her seven beloved grandchildren:  Jaxxon Wilmeth, Peter Wilmeth, Timothy Wilmeth, Wrenly Wilmeth, Samuel Wilmeth, Philip Hebisen and Kennedy Hebisen.  She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents:  Jewell and Addison Taylor, as well as her step-grandfather, Perry Smith; her paternal grandmother, Frances Millsapps.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Cherie will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Victory Life Church, 12401 Slide Road, Lubbock, TX 79424.  Teaching Pastor, Stephen Storm, will lead the celebration of life for Cherie. Cremation arrangements and memorial services are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations in Cherie’s memory to the Keller Williams Lubbock Agents in Action, in which all proceeds go to helping people in need.  Donations can be made through email at agentsinactionlubbock@gmail.com or your check can be made out to Agents in Action and mailed to 10210 Quaker Avenue, Lubbock, TX 79424, or donations can be made to Victory Life Church’s children’s ministries at 12401 Slide Road, Lubbock, TX 79424.
