Christopher Dean Gibson passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 11, 2026, at the age of 40. Born on July 9, 1986, in Lubbock, Texas, to Bert Weldon Gibson and Kendra D'Ann Myatt, Christopher lived life with enthusiasm, determination, and a heart that always made room for others.

Christopher graduated from Wellman-Union High School in 2004, where he participated in football, basketball, and track, earning various awards for his athletic abilities. His competitive spirit, determination, and love of sports continued after graduation as he attended Texas Tech University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology in 2008.

With a natural passion for fitness and a desire to help others reach their goals, Christopher built a career as a personal trainer, serving clients in Lubbock and Austin over the next 14 years. He brought energy, dedication, and determination to his work, encouraging others to push themselves and become the best they could be. Fitness was more than a career for Christopher; it was a way of life. When he wasn't helping someone else reach their fitness goals, chances were good he could be found in the gym working on his own.

Christopher's enthusiasm for life extended well beyond the gym. He was a devoted sports fan who loved cheering on the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Rangers. Whether following his favorite teams, enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, or traveling to new places, he knew how to find joy in the things he loved. One of his favorite travel experiences was visiting Colorado, where he especially enjoyed the peace and beauty of nature.

Fun-loving and outgoing, Christopher had a way of bringing energy and personality wherever he went. He was determined in pursuing his goals, hardworking in all he took on, and generous in the way he welcomed others into his life. His heart was guided by his faith in Jesus Christ, whom he had known and loved since childhood. Christopher saw the good in people and believed in giving others a chance. It was not unusual for him to bring someone home, opening his heart and his home to those who needed kindness, acceptance, or a place to belong. His compassion reflected the love of Christ and spoke volumes about the kind of man he was.

Above all, Christopher treasured his family. The time they spent together, whether in everyday moments or special occasions, created memories that will forever be held close to their hearts. His love for them was a constant in his life, and the joy he brought to those moments will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Christopher is survived by his parents, Bert and Kendra Gibson; his brother, Josh Gibson; his sister, Rachel Gibson; his grandparents, Jerry and Gaylene Myatt; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his beloved niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Weldon and Kitty Gibson.
