Cleta Eldridge

January 11, 1941 — March 10, 2022

Cleta Jane Eldridge, 81, of Lubbock passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022. She was born January 11, 1941 to Leon Aaron and Inez Arleo (Beauchamp) White. Cleta was born in Paducah, Texas. She spent many years raising her children in Oregon and California. Cleta attended West Coast Bible College in California and obtained her degree at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas. Cleta was an ordained minister and substance abuse counselor. Cleta was a pioneer and after starting groups to help those in need, shortly after led her own church congregation. She was passionate about those in need and had a large part in ministry overseas, especially in India. Cleta had part in the development of various church congregations overseas, the purchase of land in India, development of projects to provide long lasting provisions to those culturally isolated, and has an Indian child named after her. Those who knew Cleta knew the compassionate, caring, selfless, strong and anointed woman of God she was. She was a true servant for the Lord and dedicated all of her life to caring for others in His name. Cleta was a mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, but also a pastor, counselor, and friend to everyone she knew. Cleta loved people and loved the Lord with all of her heart. Her life mission up until the date of her passing was being a blessing unto others and showing them the love of the Lord. Cleta will be missed by many, but there is peace in knowing undoubtedly that she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carol Eldridge and Sandra Eldridge; brothers, Gene White and Ray White; sister, Vickie Harbour; grandchildren, Jennifer Morse, Christopher Steele, Kenneth Steele, and Kimberly Steele. Cleta was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Inez White; husband, Kenneth Eldridge; and five children.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
