Connie Canon, a native Texan born in Waco, was a beloved wife, mother, artist, and friend. She passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025 at the age of 77. Connie graduated from Robert Lee High School in Midland and went on to attend Trinity University in San Antonio. She married Gerry Canon on August 22, 1969, in Midland before making their home in Lubbock. Together they owned a local UPS store before retiring in 2022.
A gifted artist with a passion for beauty and craftsmanship, Connie built a life around her love for custom pottery. What began as a creative pursuit blossomed into a successful business, with each hand-painted piece reflecting her unique eye for detail and color. Her work was more than art--it was an expression of the care and joy she poured into everything she did.
As a mother, Connie found her greatest joy in raising her children, Robby Canon and Ike Canon, who were the pride of her life. Her home radiated warmth, laughter, and open-hearted conversation--qualities that defined her relationships and the life she created.
Animals were also dear to Connie's heart. Rarely without the companionship of her beloved dogs, she cared for them with the same affection she extended to those around her.
Connie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Gerry Canon; sons, Robby and Ike; and many friends, family members, and admirers of her work who will carry her memory in their hearts. She was preceded in death by one son, Todd Canon.
Services are scheduled for 1:30 pm, Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Midland, Texas.
Her life was a beautiful blend of creativity, compassion, and connection. Connie will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
