Danny Leon Buckaloo

October 2, 1955 — February 3, 2026

In the gentle, warm embrace of the evening light, we bid farewell to Danny Leon Buckaloo, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother, and doting grandfather. Born on October 2, 1955, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, carried the spirit of his hometown with him throughout his life, a place where his roots took hold and flourished into a kind spirit that always welcomed others with open arms.

Danny spent his career as a skilled Sheetrocker, dedicating himself to the craft until his retirement in 1991. His expert hands not only built walls but also crafted memories within them—memories that would come alive during the family gatherings he so eagerly anticipated, especially during the holidays. Each moment spent with his loved ones was a testament to his unwavering love for his family, a love that was as strong as the structures he built in his trade.

Education was important to Danny, who earned his GED, showing his commitment to personal growth and lifelong learning. But it was in his character where the most vibrant lessons lay. Known for his kindness and welcoming nature, he possessed an ability to make those around him feel at ease, while also being a firm disciplinarian, imparting wisdom in every lesson. This balance of grace and resolve shaped not only his children but also his grandchildren.

Beyond the realm of work and family, Danny found joy in creating. He was a man who derived satisfaction from building things—whether working on cars, tending to his yard, or raising chickens. Each hobby spoke volumes of his nurturing heart and inventive spirit, traits that his surviving family members will forever cherish and remember.

As the sun set on February 3, 2026, at his home in Lubbock, Texas, Danny transitioned peacefully from this world, leaving behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and craftsmanship. He is survived by his beloved wife, Vickie Buckaloo; his cherished children, Barry Dean Buckaloo and Tracy Ann Buckaloo; his siblings, Lavetta Lynn Black, Terri Jolene Buckaloo, Gayla Maxine Ashlock, Rhonda Christine Buckaloo, Billie Jean Roberts, and Brandon Jero Buckaloo; along with four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the love he instilled in their hearts.

Danny joins his parents, John and Iva Buckaloo, in eternal rest,
