David Briseno Sr.

David Briseno, of Lubbock, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the age of 68. He was born on September 16, 1957 in Mathis, TX to Frutoso Briseno Sr. and Marguerita Figueroa.

David grew up in Lubbock, TX where he worked in the automotive body shop industry prior to retirement. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Anyone who knew David knew he loved to crack open a cold one while he watched his beloved Dallas Cowboys play football. If he wasn’t watching football, he was whipping up something delicious in the kitchen to share with a loved one. His breakfast burritos were his love language and he wanted to share them with anyone he could.

David is survived by his daughter, Lisa Escandon, and son, Michael Briseno, sisters Maria Alonzo, Tanis Thomas, Ester Briseno, and Minerva Segura, 8 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Frutoso Briseno Sr. and Marguerita Figueroa and his sons, David Briseno Jr., and Nicholas David Briseno and brother, Frutoso “Cunco” Briseno.

As our loved one leaves those of us on Earth, we have security in our hearts because of the beautiful reunification David had with his recently passed son, David Briseno Jr., in heaven.

Services will be held at Combest Family Funeral Home in Lubbock, TX on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to National Alliance on Mental Health at www.donate.nami.org.
