Deborah Ruth Littlejohn

Deborah Ruth Littlejohn, 47, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Deborah was born in El Paso, Texas, to Bertha Alicia (Torres) Ramirez and the late Luis Arnoldo Ramirez. She grew up attending schools within Ysleta ISD and graduated from J.M. Hanks High School in 1997. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas in Denton and, most recently, a Master in Education from Texas Tech University in 2025.

Deborah first met Philip Littlejohn in Denton, Texas, in the summer of 1998. The two were united in marriage on February 14, 2004, in Miami, Florida, and were soon blessed with the birth of their daughter, Ariana Mary Littlejohn, born in the Miami area.

After completing her undergraduate studies, Deborah began her career in financial services with Countrywide Financial, starting in Dallas before relocating to Miami with the company. In 2008, she transitioned into education, joining the Plano ISD school system. At the time of her passing, she was teaching at Irons Middle School in Lubbock ISD — a calling she pursued with deep dedication. Beyond the classroom, she was a servant to her Lubbock community as a volunteer with several organizations, including the Junior League of Lubbock.

Deborah and her family shared a love of travel that took them around the world — from Havana, Cuba, to Tokyo, Japan, and everywhere in between — savoring the culture, food, conversation, and unique character of each place they visited. On quieter weekends at home, she could be found cooking and baking while watching Korean dramas.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her husband, Philip Ryan Littlejohn; her daughter, Ariana Mary Littlejohn of Coral Gables; her mother, Bertha Torres of El Paso; four brothers, Ruben Gonzalez of Seattle, Luis Ramirez of Dallas, Alex Ramirez of El Paso, and Joel Ramirez of El Paso; and two sisters, Dina Vanegas of El Paso and Denise Locklear of Dallas. She was preceded in death by her father on March 19, 2009.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Combest Family Memorial Chapel, under the direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory. Pastor William Stubblefield, with Difference Maker's Fellowship, will be the officiant.
