Dellwayne Ivey

Dellwayne Ivey, 81, of Lubbock passed from this life into his life eternal with his God and Savior on Sunday, June 12, 2022. He was born June 15, 1940 in Whitharral, Texas to Clarence Dempsey and Anna Mae Pearl (Mason) Ivey. Dellwayne moved to Lubbock in 1940 and grew up here. He married Novella Ruth Cates on December 13, 1958 in Lubbock. Dellwayne worked for Shop Rite Foods for many years as a supervisor. He was a dedicated Christian whose goal in life was to share Christ with all that he met. Dellwayne was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where he was active in the bus ministry, the children's ministry and was always there with an "AMEN!". He also loved playing golf.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Novella Ruth Ivey; son Dellwayne Ivey Jr.; daughters, Deborah Griffin and Becky Ivey; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Bryan Ivey and his grandson, Michael Griffin.

Visitation for Dellwayne Ivey will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 3-8pm at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with the family receiving friends from 5-7pm. Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10am at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
