Dennis Brown

January 23, 1955 — May 27, 2022

Dennis Wayne Brown, "DB", of Shallowater, Texas made his journey home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 27, 2022. He was born on January 23, 1955 to the late William F. Brown and Isabelle (Goodrich) Gifford in Callicoon, New York.
He grew up in upstate New York. His hard work ethics began in his early teens on a dairy farm in Greene, NY. In his late teens, he left the farm to go work construction with his older brothers. During this time, he met and fell in love with his future wife, Lori (House). They had their first child, Lisa, in 1974. In the late 1970's they moved to Texas and had their sons, Daniel (1979) and Michael (1987).

He worked construction with his brother, Tom, until 1989 when he started his own business, D-B Roofing, and ran his company the remainder of his life. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and stock car racing. Although, he liked hunting, he loved animals too and never went without a trusty dog (or two or three) by his side.
His greatest title in life came when he became a grandfather (Poppy) to his two granddaughters, Lexi and Shae, and two grandsons, Nicolas and Dylan.

He gave his life to Christ on September 23, 2007 and never looked back. He loved his time with the church and with his men's group. He started his own small ministry, Cans for Kids, and served several others. His favorite times came outside the church when he could talk to people about Jesus (and he liked to talk!) Dennis never met a stranger. Wherever his footsteps led him, he always made a friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Tom and Steve; his sister, Linda, and his granddaughter, Shae (Shady Bug).

Dennis is survived by his beloved wife Lori; his daughter, Lisa Harden (Rusty); his sons Daniel (Jessica Motl) and Michael; his grandchildren Lexi, Nick and Dylan; his brothers Bill Brown (Laurie), Allen Brown (Dianna), and Joe Houpt; his sister-in-law Beverly; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He will be sorely missed by all of his family, friends and many others.

A Memorial service will be held on June 10, 2022 at 2:00p.m. at The Message Church Lubbock, 5502 Auburn, Lubbock, TX 79416. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Message Church children's ministries or your favorite charity.
