Desiree Michelle (Gunderson) Hackworth

Desiree Michelle Hackworth was the beloved wife of Charles Leaman Hackworth, she passed on September 28, 2022.  She was the daughter of Wayne Gunderson and Sheila (Parker) Gunderson.  She was born on June 28, 1985, in Minnesota.

She graduated high school from Lakes Area Charter School in Osakis, Minnesota, and then went on to attend Central Lakes College in Brainerd, Minnesota.  She loved reading books and she loved baking and cooking her families recipe’s, and therefore enjoyed watching cooking programs on Food Network and Create TV.

Desiree and Charles met through her best friend, Liz Trill, on December 28, 2010.  They were engaged almost a year later on December 24, 2011, and they were married on July 13, 2013, in Alexandra, Minnesota.

Desiree started working at Prairie Senior Cottages as a caregiver on September 9, 2013, and later worked at Golden Ridge Senior Care also as a caregiver in December of 2014.  Charles and Desiree were married for 9 blessed years before our good Lord called her home.

Desiree was preceded in death by both her parents and grandparents.  She is survived by her older brother, Brett Gunderson and his daughter Morgan Gunderson of Starbuck, Minnesota, Desiree’s younger brother, Nathan Gunderson and his family, Kelsey Bender and their daughter Hailey Gunderson of Alexandria, Minnesota.  Her surviving aunts, uncles and cousins are as follows:  Pam (Parker) and Dale Negen of Paynesville, Minnesota; Michele (Parker) and Roger Dokken of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Brook (Parker) and Vince Stamm of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota and Marty and Kim Parker of Alexandria, Minnesota.  In addition, her cousins Stacie (Aaron) Berg, Melissa (Chad) Bouc, Deric (Neekol) Negen, Naomi (Daniel) Stamm, Tanya (Cole) Peterson, Vinson (Sarah) Stamm, Jesse (Tiffany) Parker, Kiel Parker, Sandi (Murray) Stefferud, Les (Kathryn) Goff, Greg (Sydney) Goff and David (Carol) Stauffacher.

Desiree is and was much loved and will be missed by all.

No services for Desiree are planned at this time.  Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
