Lubbock

Eva Diane Hart, affectionately known as Diane, was born on August 13, 1954, in Leavenworth, Kansas. She departed this world on May 6, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever warm our hearts.

Diane graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1972 and went on to attend Kansas State University, where she met the love of her life, Doug Hart. They were happily married on August 16, 1975, embarking on a beautiful journey together that took them to many places, including Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Houston, Texas; Midland, Texas; and ultimately, Lubbock.

Throughout her life, Diane radiated kindness and joy. Her vibrant spirit touched everyone she met, thanks to her wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. She had an immense heart, always ready to lend a hand, offering care and support to friends and family alike. Her absence leaves a profound void in the lives of her loved ones, particularly her family, who will miss her dearly.

Diane had a remarkable passion for animals, especially her beloved dogs. Her furry companions included a Wired-Haired Terrier mix, a Bernese Mountain Dog mix, a Rottweiler, and several Cairn Terriers. As a dedicated dog trainer for both the Big Spring Kennel Club and the Permian Basin Dog Obedience Club, she flourished in the joyous community of dog lovers. Her hard work culminated in impressive achievements, including the successful completion of two Cairn Terriers to the title of Champion.

Diane’s artistic spirit shone through her many years of volunteer service at the Midland Community Theater. She built lifelong friendships with fellow staff and volunteers, earning accolades such as the City of Midland Volunteer of the Year and the esteemed Lifetime Hammy Award for her efforts. Together with Doug, she co-wrote a play script, which became a notable melodrama performed by Mummers in 2018.

Diane is preceded in death by her father, Ellis Myracle. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Doug Hart of Lubbock; her mother, Barbara Myracle, of Leavenworth, Kansas; and her beloved sisters, Vickie Burns of Pierre, South Dakota; Amy Boeppler of Leavenworth, Kansas; and Libby Hayden of Lansing, Kansas.

In honoring Diane’s compassionate spirit, the family kindly asks that donations be made to your favorite charity. This gesture reflects her generous heart and the profound impact she made during her time with us. Diane will forever be remembered, celebrated, and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
