Eddie Alcala, a beloved husband, step-father, and friend, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 65. Born on June 8, 1960, in Amarillo, Texas to the late Sammy and Luz (Reynoso) Alcala.  Eddie grew up a devoted Catholic who loved the Lord deeply.

Eddie served as a manager at Cargill Meat Solutions for many years until his well-deserved retirement. His commitment to excellence was evident in every aspect of his work, and he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers alike. Outside of his career, Eddie had passions that added depth to his character. He found joy in riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, relishing the freedom of the open road. A devoted fan of Houston Texas football, he celebrated victories with spirited enthusiasm, sharing the excitement with friends and family.

On February 6, 2016, Eddie married Janett Martinez. Their bond was a testament to true partnership, filled with shared dreams, laughter, and affection that touched everyone around them. Together for more than 14 years, they created a warm and welcoming home.

Eddie cherished his role as a step-father to Constance Orona and her boyfriend, Jeff Brown, Robert Orona, and Clarissa Orona. He took immense pride in his step-grandson, Jeremiah Brown, and was deeply honored to be the godfather of Aiden Rey, who brought him so much joy and hope for the future. Timber, Eddie's faithful canine companion, was always by his side, a symbol of loyalty and love. He is also survived by five sisters and preceded in death by three brothers.
