Edris Edwards, 79, of Lubbock, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 28, 2022. Edris was born on November 23, 1942, in Vernon, Texas, to the late Murry Burkhart and Beulah (Phillips) Burkhart.
She met Percy Edwards, the love of her life, and they were married on March 5, 1967, in Plainview, Texas.
Edris attended and graduated from Lockett High School in 1961 and attended college after high school. She worked in her profession as a bookkeeper for many years. Edris was a loving mother and faithful friend, as well as a treasured companion to Percy for over 52 years. Friends and family were very important to her, and she loved playing cards with her lady friends. She believed in God and was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years.
Those left to cherish and honor her memory include her husband, Percy; one son, Marty Edwards and his wife Mandi of Pensacola, Florida; one sister, Joyce Wisdom of Weatherford, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Frank Burkhart.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church, 5301 82nd Street, Lubbock, TX 79424. Reverend Richard Rush will be the officiant.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that kind remembrances of Edris be made in her name to to Calvary Baptist Church's missions at https://secure.myvanco.com/L-Z4TM/campaign/C-12BH5.
Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
