Elaine Mary (Kudrikoff) Grubbs, 73, of Lubbock, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023, after a long battle with debilitating illnesses.  She was born on May 24, 1949, in Hazelton, Pennsylvania to Valentine and Cathryn (Millen) Kudrikoff.  The Kudrikoffs are of Russian heritage. The family originally immigrated to the United States early in the 20th Century because of religious persecution in Russia.  Elaine moved frequently with her family as her father served in the United States Air Force for 30 years.  The Grubbs Family and the Kudrikoff Family originally met in Salina, Kansas, where Pastor C. O. Grubbs pastored the Salina Bible Church and Elaine’s father was stationed in the military.  She married Richard Grubbs on July 2, 1968, in Kansas City, Missouri.  Elaine graduated from Calvary University in Kansas City, and she then studied in several graduate courses at the University of Missouri.  Elaine’s graduating class was the last to receive permanent, life-time certification in Missouri in the field of elementary education.  Elaine was known for creative teaching to children and for incredible, spontaneous wit.

Elaine has a love for all sorts of music, and she was a wonderful vocal singer. She also loved all sorts of crafts including scrapbooking and crocheting. Elaine loved and cared for her family deeply.
