Clarence Elden Hixson, 89, of Huntsville, Alabama and formerly of Lubbock passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 in Huntsville, Alabama.

Elden was born on September 2, 1933 in Arnett, Oklahoma to Clarence J. Hixson and Margaret Juanita Luper Hixson.  He was raised in Arnett and Sayre, Oklahoma.  He graduated from Oklahoma State University with his bachelor’s degree and served in the U.S. Army.  He worked in the window replacement business for 52 years.  He had worked at Peerless Windows in Dallas and helped open a plant in Lubbock and then worked for Don Young Windows Company in Lubbock.  He married Patsy Lucille Stroud, and they lived in Shallowater and Lubbock for many years.  He served on the City of Shallowater Volunteer Fire Department.  He was a past member of the First Baptist Church in Shallowater.

Elden is survived by his nephew, Jimmie Carter of Benbrook, Texas, niece, Jacalyn Hooper of Holdenville, Oklahoma, and niece, Cathy Behrenbrinker of Stillwater, Oklahoma.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy, on April 14, 2020, his parents, and sister, Allene Carter.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Combest Family Funeral Homes, 2210 Broadway, in Lubbock.  Graveside services will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock.  Please visit www.combestfamilyfuneralhomes.com for more information.
