Elisa “Lisa” Kennimer passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, February 22, 2026, at 4:12 a.m. She was born on March 29, 1965, and lived a life defined by love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. Lisa was the oldest of six brothers and sisters, a role she carried with strength, responsibility, and love. From a young age, she naturally stepped into the position of protector, helper, and steady presence for her siblings. She shared a special bond with her brothers and sisters, including Rudy Luna, Ruben Luna, Freddie Rodriguez and wife Rachel, Margaret Luna, and Patty Luna. Being the oldest shaped her heart as she looked after everyone, worried about everyone, and made sure everyone felt cared for. Family was never just important to her; it was everything.
For 46 beautiful years, Lisa shared her life with her devoted husband, James Kennimer. Their marriage was a testament to loyalty, partnership, and enduring love. Together, they built a home rooted in faith, strength, and commitment, raising three children — two sons, Joshua, David Kennimer, and one daughter, Jessica Kennimer Carr, who were her pride and joy.
She is lovingly survived by her husband James Kennimer, son Joshua Kennimer and his wife Sondra Kennimer, their two sons Caiden and Colton, son David Kennimer, and daughter Jessica Carr and husband Chris Carr and their two sons, Stetson and Austin. Her love only grew as her family expanded. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Caiden and Colton Kennimer, and Stetson and Austin Carr. Each of her grandsons held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Lisa was especially proud to see her family grow into the next generation. Her grandson, Stetson Carr, and his wife, Bayli Carr, blessed her with two beautiful great-granddaughters, Hayli and Jadyn. Watching her family grow across generations was one of her greatest joys.
Lisa had the kindest heart and never knew how to tell anyone “no.” If she had something and someone needed it, she gave it. If she didn’t have it, she would find a way to make it happen. Her generosity wasn’t about what she owned — it was about who she was. She loved fiercely, gave freely, and always put others before herself. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and open doors. Holidays were louder because of her, meals were sweeter because she made them, and family gatherings felt complete when she was there. She had a quiet strength that held everyone together.
Lisa’s legacy is one of selflessness, compassion, and unconditional love. She taught her family what it means to show up, to give without expecting anything in return, and to love without limits. Though she is no longer physically with us, her spirit lives on in the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who carry her heart forward.
She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always remembered.
Visitation will be from 1:00-8:00 pm, Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway with a funeral service starting at 5:30 pm.
