Elisabeth Hannelore Granger

October 26, 1941 — June 2, 2026

Lockney, Texas

Elisabeth Granger (Handreck), age 84, passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2026, surrounded by her family in Lubbock, Texas. Elisabeth was born in Berlin, Germany, on October 26th, 1941, to Hans and Irmgard Handreck.

During her time in Germany, Elisabeth enjoyed speed skating, rowing, and spending time with friends. She enjoyed life to its fullest and new adventures, which brought her to Michigan, where she eventually landed in Mt. Morris, Michigan, where she grew her family to three with a baby girl. She spent most of her free time helping with school activities, neighborhood barbecues, and becoming the second "mom" to many, which included too many fur babies to count. Liz also worked in the dental field for over 30 years, which she loved dearly. After leaving Michigan and moving to Arizona, she finally landed in Lockney, TX, to be near her daughter and son-in-law. To know and love Liz, you know that she would move mountains if you needed her to, told it like it is, and never apologized for who she was. There are many "Liz" sayings that people will remember for years.

Liz is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Peter Handreck. She is survived by her daughter, Dana Hernandez (Granger), and son-in-law Mario, and her grandson, Jonathen Hernandez. She is also survived by many relatives/friends who have been in her life for a very long time and others for not as long who have made a huge impact on Liz's life, as well as she has made on theirs.

If you also know Liz, you know she did not want to have any type of memorial service, so in honor of her, we ask that you please donate to a local animal shelter and, in memory of Liz... if you want the purse, buy the purse!
