Elsa Fernandez

Elsa Fernandez, 72, of Lubbock, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 12, 2023.  Elsa was born on January 22, 1951, in Texas.

She attended and graduated from Anton High School.

Elsa met Pedro “Pete” Fernandez, the love of her life, and they were married on December 2, 1984, in Lubbock.

Elsa was a hair stylist most of her life, retiring in 2013.  She loved to garden, growing everything and had a green thumb.  Elsa was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Pedro “Pete” Fernandez; her daughter, Crystal Fernandez; five brothers, Ramiro Sanchez and Jose Sanchez of Lubbock, Frank Sanchez of South Texas, Felix Sanchez of Anton and Joe Louis Sanchez of Meadow; one sister, Yolanda Hernandez of Lubbock.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in the City of Lubbock Cemetery.  Deacon Santos Chavez will be the officiant.  Services are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
